Cause
This issue may occur if an incorrect option was selected for the cryptographic service provider when generating the View Composer certificate.
This issue may also occur with the The service is not working properly error if:
- The View Composer user account is locked out
- A firewall is blocking the communication between the View Connection Server and View Composer Server.
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
- When creating the View Composer certificate, ensure to select Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider as the cryptographic service provider. For more information, see Requesting an SSL Certificate for VMware View using Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) (2021537).
- Ensure that the composer user account is not locked in Active Directory and is set to not expire.
- Ensure that there is no potential firewall blocking the communication between the servers. For more information, see VMware View ports and network connectivity requirement (1027217).
