Symptoms
- Recomposing a desktop or desktop pool failswith the error:
View Composer Active Directory Authentication Error. Possibly the domain username and password used in the QuickPrep setting is incorrect
- In the View Connection server log file, you see the error:
faultString: vmware.sim.Fault.AdAuthenticationFault

Cause
This issue occurs if the Quickprep Active Directory password has changed and the new password is not updated in the View configuration.
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
- Navigate to View Configuration > Servers > vCenter Servers > Edit > View Composer Settings.
- Select the domain and click Edit.
- Enter the correct password.
Note: If this does not resolve the issue, the VC_CONFIG_ID value in the View Composer database may be incorrect.
